Bali Grandmother

I met this grandmother hard at work in a rice terrace.  She spoke no English but that didn't stop her from communicating.  She wanted to know where I was from and she had lots of questions.  How did foreigners get the currency used in Bali when they didn't earn that kind of currency in their home countries?  Did Americans also work in rice fields?  If not -- and that was unthinkable -- what did they eat?
